Project Description

The Light as a Feather AR Experience was an AR experience I worked on at ViacomCBS for the AwesomenessTV’s VidCon 2019 booth. The goal was to make an experience for fans of the Light as a Feather show to play through an “episode” of the show. Combining volumetric video and the mixture of real and digital objects we created an experience where fans could participate with characters from the show in a short mystery and get a sneak peek of the newest season.

Notable Features

One of 7 volumetric videos in the experience

Volumetric video Timeline plugin

During the process of preparing for launch we needed a way to play the volumetric videos at precisely the right time alongside other effects or sounds. In order to make it easy to time effects alongside the videos I created a set of timeline clips and tracks that let you play the videos on Unity’s Timeline.

This allowed us to rapidly put together sections of the story without getting bogged down by calling functions from the timeline, saving us a lot of time and effort.

Game Interactions

Most of the experience was searching around a digital room and interacting with objects. I worked on a majority of the interactions on the objects such as turning on lamps, triggering spiders to crawl around and many others.
